Wrangler Local Heroes: we’re picked!

Wrangler just started a Local Heroe program and we got picked amongst 10 others like Ouni Inc. and model Michelle Warneke.

Well, fair enough for the celebration time for Wrangler as for the 3rd time in a row, they took home a Cannes Lions Award at the prestigious Cannes Lions Festival with their STUNT and new We Are Animals campagnes.

Check out Ouni Inc. new additions to her wardrobe: a high-waisted JESS jeans and  a classic orange & blue plaid shirt.

Wrangler Blue Bell Spring Summer 2011

Wrangler decided to do something a bit different for their new Spring 2011 Blue Bell collection. They decided to shoot a short film for it. The film takes place at the Ace Hotel Palm Springs, California and stars model Tony Ward.

Wrangler also gives you a choice on what you want to see. They shot two parallels of Tony Ward’s past, one featured forward and the other backwards. You can choose between seeing both simultaneously or prefer seeing more of one perspective over the other. You can see some snapshots below.

Wrangler Spring/Summer 2011 “Stunt” Campaign

Wrangler has just launched their new Spring/Summer 2011 “Stunt” campaign. It features stuntmen performing some pretty gruesome stunts, like jumping through a second story window, avoiding an explosion, falling through glass, and running down a street on fire. Featured in the post are some behind-the-scenes shots and the launch party of the campaign.

Wrangler Worn Across America

Worn across America with Wrangler is a new campaign they are running. For Wrangler’s S/S11, the denim brand returns with a collection inspired by the classic US road trip. Introducing 4 different washes, NYC, IOWA, UTAH and LA, each jean documents a broken journey across the USA. This involves jeans being just worn and ending up getting destroyed, the colours go from deep and dark to light and bright, the denim varies from reinforced and unbreakable to superlight cotton linen. The inspiration is eclectic: military pieces, signature Wrangler leather, the twisted teardrops of paisley prints. This is Life on the Road.

To celebrate this story, Wrangler has devised an exciting competition, Try On one of Wrangler’s contemporary fits to win an incredible tour across the United States, from New York to Los Angeles! All you have to do is go into Selfridges and try on any of the Wrangler contemporary fit jeans and you will be entered into the contest. The promotion will end at midnight on April 30th 2011. It sounds fantastic to me! I would love a trip across the US!

Men: try on the Ben. It’s a modern anti-fit jean with regular top block and tapered legs and women: try on the Molly. It’s a contemporary-cut slim-fit that goes with anything, any time.

The winners’ incredible, adrenaline-fuelled tour starts in… New York: find out why the city never sleeps. Next, Iowa, spend the night outdoors at Zion National Park. The following day learn Native survival techniques before bedding down in Utah’s awesome canyons, then the action hits the asphalt, with a drive on the legendary Route 66 to Las Vegas and the trip rounds out in Los Angeles.

Adam Kakembo, marketing director of Wrangler EMEA says: “Worn Across America, the SS11 collection, demonstrates our remarkable denim innovation. Hold the four washes next to each other and you can see how the marks of wear evolve at each stage. The season’s thrilling promotion brings the collection to life, and the winners will have the time of their lives!”

Wrangler SS11 ‘Warn Across America’

Imagine wearing one pair of jeans on a trip across the United States: for men, the anti-fit Ben; for women, the low-slim Molly. They start clean in dry and rinse look indigo. After a few months wear, they feel Just Worn – a new initiative from Wrangler that uses exclusive 3D techniques to give jeans authentic creasing. As the journey continues, moustaches, patches and marks of wear deepen and fade. And finally the same jeans are all but destroyed.Wrangler has recreated these jeans’ lifespan in four stages, each one more broken-in than the next.

Green is the signature color of the season, a flash of outdoors. The Field Jacket is SS11’s icon piece, washed-out and lightweight. Pair it with green cast denim for an authentic vintage look. Bright greens are bold on T-shirts; more muted tones feature on dresses and leather jackets.

Denim head-to-toe is a defining look. Refresh the silhouette with denim shorts for men, and cropped jeans, vintage-wash jeggings and chinos for women – not to mention super-stretch. Denim on denim carries over into garments themselves, with chambray patchwork used as patterns on jeans, shirts and dresses, or fortifying placket, collar and cuffs. Denim washes are dusty and dirty, but look out for fully-bleached jeans with an echo of blue for men and pink for women.

Wrangler, the original American outdoor denim brand, has transformed in the last two years, with contemporary fits, bang-on-trend styles, and market-leading finishes. Look out for Vegas, the perfect mid-rise skinny, in the men’s jeans line-up. New for women is the directional Jess, which has a high waist and super-slim legs – very sexy. And take a look at Jay boyfriend-cut shorts.

Accessories show the brand at its finest.Wrangler’s never-bettered belts are hand-made in Italy from premium grade leathers, and this season come studded, riveted or lovingly embroidered. Bracelets and wallets, also in leather, show the same top-notch craftsmanship. Canvas belts channel the military theme, while canvas bags – including shopper and courier styles – are a terrific use of the collections’ army green. Summer scarves in light, tactile fabrics add the final touch.
